Scott Edwards, CEO and co-founder of Summit 7, is an award-winning leader in cybersecurity, compliance, and cloud solutions for the Defense Industrial Base. With over 20 years of experience spanning the U.S. Army Signal Corps, engineering roles with SAIC and CSC supporting NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, and co-founding Summit 7 in 2008. Scott has built a career at the intersection of defense, security, and technology. He has led Summit 7 to guide DIB contractors through compliance with CMMC, DFARS, and NIST standards, as well as protecting sensitive data under CUI, ITAR, and EAR. Scott also serves as Executive Director of MSPs for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure.

Before founding Summit 7, Scott spent over six years at NASA with both SAIC and CSC, where he served as a Senior Computer Engineer and later as the NASA Datacenter Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager. He is also a former U.S. Army Signal Corps Officer, having served with the 2-227th Aviation Battalion in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the 1-6 Air Defense Artillery Battalion in Fort Bliss, Texas.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Science in Computer Science (Information Assurance) from James Madison University’s NSA-designated information security program, an academic foundation that has shaped his strategic vision and deep technical understanding in both government and commercial sectors.

Scott uses his plethora of experience in security, compliance, business, and systems engineering to lead Summit 7, curating a dedicated, customer-focused team that treats excellence as a baseline.
